I always have trouble writing goodbyes. The words don’t flow and aren’t as romantic but everything that has a beginning, has an end.
I feel like it’s a good time to end things… it’s a new year and I need to refocus my time and energy. Turns out 150 is a nice round number. It’s been the plan for sometime, but made it more concrete in the last few months.
I started Assorted Crates with no idea of what I was doing, or how far it would go. It has evolved into something far beyond those initial thoughts, and I have an immense sense of pride when I think back to the road I’ve travelled and what I’ve accomplished with this. To have been able to put out a mix (almost) every week for over two years, is a level of consistency I didn’t think I would reach, I’ve set a bar.
What comes next? Who knows. I have no plan for DJ mixes this year, I’ll still drop a few at some point in time, but will be extremely random and spontaneous. I’m so thankful for everyone who has been a part of this journey, the listeners, the guest DJs and curators. Everyone who shared it with their friends. I can’t say enough. For now, farewell, and a sorted goodbye, to assorted crates.
